Hi, I'm Simon

I am a Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administrator, with an enthusiastic passion for Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Administration, Identity and Security topics. Up on the top right, there are a few links that contain a bit more information about me.

I am a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer for one of Germany's largest  Banking organisations and a Security, Compliance and Identity Lead on a M365 Digital Workplace Initiative Project currently being deployed. I am based in London, though regularly travel to Germany. I have been involved in many topics, including:
 

• Switching from a German Cloud Tenant, to an standard International Tenant

• Setting up the initial users and licensing, and getting Single-Sign on with ADFS working correctly

• All Administration and Consultancy topics for Office 365 licensing

• All Tenant Administration, setting up Tenant Org-Setting, including all the settings for Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business

• All documentation relating to security and identity for regulatory purposes,  to enable use of Cloud Services in the organisation

• Setup and helped manage the roll out of Microsoft Teams to Corporate and Internet based Private Devices, including Conditional Access and Multi-Factor Authentication

• Setup Azure Information Bring Your Own Key and Microsoft Customer Key and Customer Lockbox

• Involved in providing technical consultancy to the Team who work with Microsoft Consulting Services and Fast Track to fully deploy Cloud Services, with a Microsoft 365 E5 license
   

My strengths are around Microsoft Teams, Administration, Data Security, Security and Identity - most areas of the Security and Compliance Portal. I have experience of Intune, Device Management and Exchange Online, but these are not my specialist areas.

I have worked within Investment and Retail Banking since 1996. My formative years were spent as an IT Security administrator, during which time I qualified as a NT4 MSCE and CISSP. I was part of a team responsible for the implementation of the first Active Directory in Dresdner Kleinwort. For many years I was the Global Head for the Application and Windows Server security IT administration team, covering London, Frankfurt, New York, and Singapore, and managing about 20 staff.

I have long proven experience being responsible for people, products, and processes, in senior positions, while also effectively collaborating on projects with colleagues in multiple countries. I understand collaboration is very difficult, but I take pride in making it work and overcoming challenges. Throughout I have continued to undertake training on numerous products or methodologies, and completed an Open Degree in Information Communication Technologies and Business Management, as well as Agile Project Management, Office 365, Azure and trending technologies.
